As part of the Fertility treatment offered by Sunfert, there is a 4 session counselling or some sort of coaching as part of their IVF package.
So I decided to give this life coach a call. Fixed an appointment on April 29th after my Diphereline injection.
When our number were called, we walked into the Sunfert Wellness room and greeted by Mr. C.T Ong. As we sat down, he went through a form that I had filled earlier in regards to my mental and emotional state of mind, and asked me to draw a tree of my own idea. From the form, he noticed several things about my own personality and we addressed out our own fears, worries and issues that is in our mind.
As the session progress, he have given me a clearer picture of what to expect of this IVF. There is nothing we can control in this process. We have a plan, the end result to that we will be parents for the very first time. How soon or how many tries, it is not important. And at the mean time, we were asked "why do we want children??" and the answer for me to have someone to share our love and affection. For us to care and to complete our marriage, to have a home and not a house. We were asked, have we thought on how we want to bring up our child, how are we going to teach this child in terms of value and moral and in terms of disciplinary? (personally, I have discussed with my husband on this matter, no cane, however, I prefer the naughty corner punishment). As CT Ong mentioned, 9 months is going to zoom past super fast and before we know it, parenting skills are something we may never have seriously consider or study about, and this is the best time to think about that.
At the end of the 2.5 hours session, we walked out with a better and more optimistic mindset on this IVF. The conclusion, don't over pressure ourselves on this IVF journey and things would come around easier.
I guess things would be more optimistic with the help of this life coach. We all got to have someone to give us the little push, the little assurance and to have a little more HOPE.
